Just Don't Sweat My Swag

When first scanning through these pictures they caught my eye, more than any image that I that I can remember. I thought a fair amount  of these image were a picture of a tree house, which brought me back to my younger days around seven or eight , where one of my best friends had a tree house. And in this tree house because of the isolation, but we would spend “hella” time in. Anything and everything that we done were in this isolated tree house.

The photographer orchestrated by Jim Kazanjian has captured and has expressed a sense of absurd muddle hostility amongst and within the numerous pictures. From the depleted gravel to the unorthodox structure of each and every house or image in these photographs, it provides a quizzical nevertheless a pomposity by the photographer because of his admiring unique photographs. These photographs taken by Jim Kazanjian are far from a maladroit, due to his compassionate explosive skill that he provides. In addition to that with each and every image on an island it generates these photographs and provides sense of apprehensive isolation. These images are exceedingly distinct and unpredictable.  Each photograph is innovative in its own way, the dark smoke to the lightning strike all presents a feel of trepidation but a joyful curiosity because wondering  what will the next image will appear to be like, which will have your mind in a complexity of thoughtful and even irrelevant thoughts. However, some of these images express a sense of a cheerful complacently as well as a vibrant soothing picture of nature, because of the gentle and modest image of the birds flowing in and out of the practical tree show.

Analytical Review

Vivir, Soar, Leer

"The artful blending of the peaceful colors emphasizes the quiet, serene mood.  It is almost as if one can feel the soft, blowing breeze. "

"eye-blazing contrast with a dramatic checkerboard of the white and black walls, tile, and bed comforter.  The angle of the bed and decreasing size of the contrasted diamonds creates a distinct depth that seems to elongate the room."

Books and Stuff

"The term “mental illness” conjures up images of degradation, impoverishment, unhappiness, frenzy and chaos. In this beautiful collection of gripping photos,"

Podcast Response: Middle School

The episode of American Life which, a podcast that goes through and describes the stories of people lives in American, is new to me however, it grasp my attention every time I listen to an episode.. In this podcast named “Middle School” the radio host Ira Glass, has been asked to do a show over the life of students in middle school. This is brought up due to an email sent by a fourteen year old female by the name of Annie, who was curious about whether or not people felt the way she felt about middle school. At first Ira wonders what exactly causes so much frustration in middle, and in Annie words she felt that it was the time that children in that socially awkward stages. They went through a great deal of drama such as relationships amongst each other, and peer pressure of being someone or something that you are not because a person wants to fit in. I feel this especially happens when it comes to coming to a new school in the middle of the school year and trying to make friends, which is not very easy to some people at a certain extent. During this episode of American Life, we are able to listen to a lot of different opinions/ ways that middle school was not one of the finest times in life. In the first act the host, Ira Glass is interested in wondering about the emotional and physical changes that occur during middle school. While a different act, in American Life explains the difficulty transitioning from one school to another

In the first act, a former middle school teacher named, Alex Blumberg that reflected upon his past experiences that he felt that he recognized during his time at the middle school. In his words he explained that during this time students were wonder where they “fit in the social order, who they are attracted to and who they are going to be, figure out a sense of identity.” He also feels that the students are not taking their studies extremely important but just wondering the perception people have towards them. This is something that I can say that actually happens in middle school. Students at this do not understand the value of an education, feels that by going to school, will not benefit them…necessarily….Most students perceive this as a time of social-hour and would wake up every day wondering about unimportant things such as  what are they going to wear. And then worrying what people think of them all the time.

In the other act a boy by the name Leo, his family has recently moved away from Rochester, NY, leaving behind all of his friends and stranding him into a new untouched environment, that he has never seen before.  Leo (not his real name) a 7th grader has had a rough with the move, he is struggling to find friends, which I think may be because of the cliques that are developed around this time. And once these cliques are developed its hard for a newbie to come in and join.  In addition to that he feels that the move was overwhelming for him. His time in Rochester, he had already thought he been through the minor stage of establishing those key friends that become essential for many children, and once  at a bigger and “louder” and he knows absolutely no one, it becomes very much overwhelming to him. However, in this case the boy Leo made a friend, which allowed him to feel more comfortable about going to school, but not really. He feels sick, because he has to go to school day after day after day. This is just shows that even though he may have one friend it is still not as equal to his old life in Rochester, New York.

These two acts are very similar in a way that it shows the hardships that are brought upon during the time of middle school.  The transformation of figure out who you are. In addition to that gather a sense of friendship with a group of people, which will in the end make each and every person feel like they are a part of something. All in all I have realized that middle school can be hard for certain people due to the problems of friends.

Short Submission on Middle School podcast.

I guess I am a little different to most people point of view over the days of middle school. Unlike most, I felt that middle school was an awesome time that I will half-remember ha-ha, especially those real good times that I had that I had during middle school. During Middle School it was the time of experimenting new and great opportunities that at a younger age you just did not do. Playing a sport and representing your school within that sport, at the time was a first for me during middle school. And by me playing that sport it allowed me to gather numerous of friendships that are partially still intact in high school. These friendships aided me into gather my personal identity. It allowed me to sort of figure out the things that I like and appreciated. In addition to that during Middle school it also was a time that you just do not hang-out with people the same sex as you. At this time, your small fear of the opposite sex and cuddies begin to rare off. However, I do understand some of people feelings towards middle school, because during middle school is the time where the cliques began to form. And during this time can be very hard on some people that have not gained their sense of identity.

"The Postcard Killer" Entry #3

In the third entry with reading "The Postcard Killer" I am beginning to realize that I am astonishingly into a book. Which brings me back to my first ever post, where I had explained my reading life and asked my viewers various questions such as "Is reading what’s on the board at school to locate the homework for the night, going up and down through Twitter to see what people are doing/ trending in this world or even checking your Facebook and reading people statuses all day long are a portion of your reading life. By reading the newspaper or just reading people shirts such as "Don't Sweat My Swag" or "Is That All You Got?" Nike shirts are a part of someone’s reading life? If so wouldn't a lot of people have some type of reading life?” And now knowing that I have read over 300 pages, I realize that the "real reading life" has starting to erupt! Now, I’m reading more and more all because of me beginning to read "The Postcard Killers"

I understand it’s been about two weeks since I have posted a blog on "The Postcard Killers" and because I took a week off I began to realize how into the book I am. After reading, the Sweden police department allowed the father of the daughter who was once murdered onto the investigation, due to his great insight on the investigation. However, they gave him some exceptions, he had to be chaperoned by a Swedish officer at all times, and in addition to that he is not allowed to carry a weapon.

When I first read this I was a little confuse because wouldn’t they want a fellow officer to have a gun, what if someone pull a gun on him, how in the world will he be able to defend himself, I mean do they want him to die and not be able to give all of the insight that he has obtain. In addition to that a chaperone isn’t that a little creepy!! I know personally I would not be able to operate with someone following me everywhere I go, and there are some things that you just do not want people to know, and with a chaperone, that sense of independence has been eliminated. However, I am starting to remember why, I believe that since this investigation is out of the Harlem, New York, he is not really allowed to be a part of the investigation. So by him having a chaperone is for him not to get into any-type of trouble that will in the end have him sent back to New York, which wont allow them to get the information that he has. And by him not carrying a gun is again for him not to get into any trouble.

While also reading, Jacob and the investigation team came to a conclusion that in order for them to catch these criminals, they will have to get them to make mistakes!! In addition to that they believe that by communicating with them through the same way they communicate with them, which is through the postcard they will be able to find out various motives and etc. Hoping later they will be able to collaborate everything and figure everything out.

And to all of my followes just remember one thing......DON'T SWEAT MY SWAG!

Dancing on the Great Wall of China
This video was something else; it shocked my mind to think that someone can dance like this and also match the music with his dancing so perfectly. People definitely should check it out; it is something that you do not see every day, even if you’re trying. Even though the title of "Dancing on the Great Wall" maybe a little deceiving because of its dullness that the title brings, it is still an amazing video that people need to watch.

However, when I first saw this video, I thought it would be like any other dancing/popping video that I have seen on television, in movies. In the video that was located on the Great Wall of China, where an unknown young explosive dance demonstrates his unrealistic ability to dance. The aggressive formality style of each and every move, the up-beat exotic club music, the sentimental calmness among the setting, all expresses how well this guy can dance. Each and every move was with a purpose, he used the music to help him with that. With him portraying each and every move with the music, it illustrates a rejuvenated compassion inside and also shows the amount of effort that he put into dancing. However, with the use of the music, he makes it seem easier than normal, and by the time you get done watching you get that false sense of righteousness/confidence due to his impressive ability to dance. In addition to that the setting is unique within itself. You see this calm collective dull simple background with not one person in sight, but there is a man dancing the complete opposite of what is in the background, which makes you wonder whether or not that was planned or was it just a coincidence that the background was simple that the art of dancing was the complete opposite.

Real cool video, might want to check it out!! And PLZZZ DNT SWEAT HIS SWAG!!

Super Bowl Commercials
We all know that many people watch the Super Bowl for many exotic reasons. Some for support of their home-team, family member, or even some to support the team that beat their team or even some to support the opposing team due to the fact that the other team beat them in the playoffs. In addition there are people who support come to the game and watch the halftime show, but there are numerous of people who turn their channel onto the game but does not actually watch the game instead they look for the most elaborate, most-expensive, and unique commercials that come with the game.

Coo photo!! At first you wonder how did the photographer do this. And you ask yourself was photo shop involved in this picture. However after awhile you see how it was taken and you then become to respect the creativity, and the beauty of the picture!

February Post: Autobiography of Malcom X (Black History Month)

As many may know the month of February is "Black History Month", and during this month people take the time to remember the extraordinary accomplishments that the black race has brought to this world. One of the biggest accomplishments was during the Civil Rights Movement, where many strong-opinionated, intelligent, dedicated people risked their lives in many ways for what they believed for. I feel that the word "risk" still does not equal to how dangerous their efforts were to fight for what they believed for.

One person that many of us know and celebrate is Martin Luther King Jr. a man that took these extraordinary risks in order to make a better life for an entire race. A man who preached non-violence, a beloved community and help guide people to achieve the non-violence philosophy. On the other hand, there a person that some of us know, but not necessary know completely about, who is Malcolm X. Malcolm X was a man who believed that African Americans should try to become independent among white Americans with things such as businesses and etc; and a part of this was the back to Africa movement. Malcolm X thought that by moving back to Africa, it would allow the race to become completely independent without the white Americans.

With Malcolm x being so anti-White Americans, people may wonder why he had so much anger towards the "White Americans". Well while gradually reading through some of the autobiography I found some very interesting things that might have explained his actions/feelings towards the white race. When Malcolm's mother was pregnant with Malcolm, the KKK or Ku Klux Klan members broke into the windows of his family’s house in Omaha, Nebraska. They targeted Malcolm’s father, Earl Little, a black Baptist preacher from Georgia. When they found out that he works for Marcus Garvey’s Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA), which supports the return of American blacks to Africa, they attacked him and beat him. In 1929 after they had moved to Lansing, Michigan from Nebraska another white supremacist group burned down his house. He supposively watched it burn down and he said it had taught him a valuable lesson about being black in America.

These situations are just a small part of what I remember in the Autobiography of Malcolm X. The things that he had went through as a child, kind of explains some of philosophies and it also explains such actions that he made in his older days.

Fly Me To The Moon!

The sonic animation clip created by Versis and Dibiase, which was directed by Ruffmercy ((ruffmercy.com) check out his other videos!!). And in this video the artist and director used numerous ways to connect his viewers to video, by keeping the screen moving from scene to scene which did not allow the view to become easily distracted This keeps the viewer guessing and questioning what the next seen look, sound, quasi look like. Also in this video the artist and director express in the opening scene, an interactive game-like war that gives a sense of an enthusiastic curiosity as well as frantic but confident player. This player is tranquil and relaxed with each and every move. He fires carefully while dodging other rapid firing, which illiterate smoothness about his play.

In addition to the whole video that complement the title very-well, we have this "player" trying to make his way to the top and that is what explains the title "Fly Me to the Moon". He wants to get to the top so that he can be with the people being with the "stars" the famous people. And then there are many people getting in his way, which is the thing that is trying to kill him/ bring him down! And once he makes it to the top he is rewarded with many gold coins and a crown hat. This symbolizes his achievement!

Every time I click the link to this video I just cannot help but watch it, it has a smooth but chill beat to it that draws my attentions to it… this video has brought me to wonder about more sonic animation videos that may grab my attention as this one did.
