Exercise #1
In the opening chapter of "Cruddy"written by Lynda Barry expresses an outspoken enthusiasm that exemplifies or suggest the childish hostility type of personality. The literal content of the passage and the use of describing everything with the word "Cruddy" can be evidence for the maturation of character, which allows the passage to be easy to read and understand. With the repetition of the word Cruddy is illustrate the aggravated "Cruddy" frustration within the world. The person writing cruddy is writing about "the cruddy girl named Roberta" because she "was writing in her cruddy book of her cruddy life". This was about a girl who sees her life as cruddy and everything in her life is cruddy. Her life is cruddy to her because she has a difficult time to "concentrate to write" due to her sister not being quiet, which she explains by writing "she will not shut up,she will not shut up," over and over again. This demonstrates the frustration and/or cruddiness of her life to the point where she wants to "Bash her..Head"
